Event Wrap Up with Brisbane Supanova Expo 2011

This is our wrap up of the Brisbane Supanova Expo 2011 event. For us, the event was perhaps the most memorable to date. Two and a half days of pop culture immersion, three full days if we count Friday morning's setup time before opening at 1pm.

Thousands flocked out to scope what's on show. In traditional Supanova style the sci-fi, horror and comic characters where out in force ready to pose unashamedly to any camera lens in the area. The event became the home of wookies, jedi's, gremlins, swat teams, the Delorian car from Back to the future and our personal favourites the alien and predator. There were just too many wicked costumes to name and the amount effort was amazing, as they became the event crowd entertainers.

We were blown away by returning visitors from Supanova 2010, as they returned hoping to pickup a copy of Book 2, in the Johnny Marsh Adventure series. It was unfortunate book 2 wasn't available for us to offer to those eager returning fans of Dream Raider during this event, but we are doing our very best and aim to release book 2 for you in Australia's winter 2011.

Chatting to enthusiastic readers is definitely a high point for Kev and I and never ceases to amaze us, as our hearts jump a beat receiving returning interest from readers. As we said to visitors over the course of the weekend, this is some of the best feed back we can get and it keeps us going, produce more new content and do our very best to speed up the release of book 2 for you.

The booth area proved to be an eye-catching display drawing visitors. We estimate having personally talked to between 350-400 people!
